Real-World Evidence & Health Economic Outcomes Director - London

Reporting to the Head of Patient Access, this role will be responsible for leading the set-up and operationalisation of Mereo’s Evidence-Generation programme, “SATURN”, which seeks to work with existing data collection within Centres of Expertise for the treatment of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). In addition, this role will also ensure the SATURN programme is fully integrated in to the overall Evidence Generation activities and input in to the Health Economic activities, providing valuable experience and insights to ensure the Health Economic activities are robust and fit-for-purpose, to support effective, data-driven decision-making at European and in-country level; and to support an effective engagement with regulators, HTAs and Pricing & Reimbursement authorities across the Mereo commercial territory for Setrusumab (EU, EEA + UK).

Specifically:

  • Responsible for leading and coordinating the SATURN programme strategy, approach and execution to ensure it is aligned with all stakeholder requirements
  • Working with an external CRO vendor, to manage and coordinate the delivery of the programme objectives on time and to budget
  • Manage the existing relationships with the key expert OI treating centres participating in SATURN, and to advance these individually and collaboratively through individual centre engagements or via the established Steering Group
  • Direct operational execution and oversight of the collaborations with the participating expert treating centres and wider cross-functional stakeholders participating in SATURN
  • Support, build and nurture the relationships with other key centres that could be candidates to join the SATURN collaboration as a key cross-functional scientific communicator and collaborator to develop data analysis strategies and assessments
  • Support the generation and publication of data outputs from the SATURN programme
  • Support effective external presentation opportunities to continue to build understanding of and buy-in for SATURN as the appropriate vehicle to generate data to support the market entry of a new OI therapy in the Mereo territories
  • Participate in engagement with the regulatory, HTA and payer interactions to continue to develop SATURN on an iterative, “co-creation” basis together with key data customers
  • Input into the Health Economic strategy, including input into the health economic model design and execution and involvement and input into the payer / HTA strategy and approach in the Mereo territories
  • In partnership with the Head of Medical Affairs, ensure the SATURN programme is fully integrated into the overall Evidence Generation activities and meets the needs of all Mereo stakeholders
  • Maintain close and respectful relationships with all OI community stakeholders, e.g., OI associations at national and European level
  • Maintain close and respectful relationships with our partner company, Ultragenyx, in order to deliver within the roles and responsibilities defined in the partnership.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a similar field, e.g., Real-World Evidence generation, registries and datasets management and/or Health Economics, either in a consultancy, CRO or a biotech / pharma company
  • An advanced degree, or equivalent qualifying years of experience, in health economics, pharmaceutical sciences or related clinical and/or analytical discipline related to registry-generated / Real World data generation, management and interrogation
  • Strong knowledge and experience with data sources and analytical methods
  • An in-depth knowledge of patient reported outcomes (PROs), economic modelling, and Real-World Evidence-generation relevant to payers and healthcare systems will be considered an advantage
  • A creative and innovative, entrepreneurial approach, keen to see “what can be” vs. “what is” and ability to self-manage with a “can do” attitude as part of a “flat” team ethos
  • High levels of EQ and the ability to build and nurture relationships, manage complexity and build consensus across diverse stakeholders
  • Commitment and drive to deliver in a field of high unmet medical need
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and experience working with a cross-border international team in order to deliver high-quality outputs in a dynamic and evolving environment
